REV. ALEX SHAW SUGGESTS CREATING LISTS FOR A COUPLE TRYING TO SAVE THEIR LOVE & RELATIONSHIP.

Long ago I learned that each couple needs lists of topics. Each couple should work on making these lists Together IF THEY WANT TO SAVE THEIR LOVE & RELATIONSHIP.

  1. Things you agree on.

  1. Things you do NOT agree on & you can still respect each other’s differences of opinions.

  1. Things you do NOT agree on and REFUSE TO DISCUSS BECAUSE OPINIONS SELDOM CHANGE AND YOU LOVE EACH OTHER AND IT SIMPLY IS NOT WORTH IT TO LOSE THE LOVE OVER A DIFFERENCE OF OPINIONS, AND ALL THAT YOU HAVE BUILT BETWEEN YOU. TRUST IS SO HARD TO FIND AND EASILY LOST OVER SIDING AGAINST EACH OTHER.                                         NOTE: IF U CANNOT AGREE ON THINGS, AND ARE CHOOSING TO KEEP THE LOVE MAKE A NEW AGREEMENT THAT:

IF:

  1. It happened before today and it is a good memory, then we agree in the future to discuss it as a LOVING MEMORY.
  2. It happened before today and it is hurtful, shameful to one or the other, demeaning or vicious in any way and would cause pain to bring it up again, then we agree to NEVER MENTION IT AGAIN FROM THIS TIME FORWARD.

  1. AGREE TO DISAGREE AND LOVE EACH OTHER BECAUSE THE LOVE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOUNDATION OF ANY RELATIONSHIP.

IF it is worth it to you to keep the LOVE then ADD #3 & #4 to your agreements between you.

Both of you are WORTH IT.

AGREE TO PRAY FOR EACH OTHER TOGETHER & SEPARATELY.

WITH MEN, often there is an amount of pride and they find it hard to back down so IF WE LOVE THEM, IT HAS TO BE WORTH IT TO BE THE ONE TO OPEN THE SUBJECT AND SAY WE ARE SORRY.

WITH WOMEN THAT ARE RAISED TO BE INDEPENDENT AND USE THEIR LOGIC AND REASON TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS IN THEIR LIVES, (Taught to Think Like a Man) there is an amount of pride and they find it hard to back down so IF WE LOVE THEM, IT HAS TO BE WORTH IT TO BE THE ONE TO OPEN THE SUBJECT AND SAY WE ARE SORRY, AS LIKELY IT WILL TAKE TRUE LOVE & COMPASSION TO SAVE THE RELATIONSHIP.
