Alex’s Story – Power Feng Shui For Success

Back in 1994 my friend Linda called and told me that she had found my next career. It had been a couple of years since I had closed my Rainbow Stained Glass Studio and was looking for a new career. She went on to tell me that with my Stained Glass Studio background and my Real Estate experience that she had the perfect next step for me. I know Linda as an amazing business woman and trusted friend so I asked “And what will that be?”

She was just so excited. “Feng Shui,” she said.

“And what is Feng Shui?” I questioned her.

“Well it is like energy decorating of your home for blessings of money, love, career paths or whatever one is looking for. I have been researching it and I have a Feng Shui Consultant coming on Saturday and all I need you to do is just show up. We won’t tell him you are going to take his job.” She laughed.

There is no saying “No” to Linda as she is always 10 steps ahead of everyone. It would be a foolish move to refuse. I agreed to appear at the appointed time on Saturday and follow Linda and Jerry, her husband through the house to see what the Feng Shui expert had to tell them. Who knows I thought, she might be onto something. Feng Shui, what a funny name, I thought.

Saturday came, I got there moments before the Consultant, and proceeded to follow them room to room, as he pointed out issues that were problems for their living space. First he walked over to the wall of 1’ square mirrored tiles on the wall above the dining table. “Please sit down facing the mirrors so you can see what your guests experience when they dine with you.” He went on to explain, “The mirror tiles are positioned so that when your guests sit in front of them, their heads are cut off from their bodies. They feel disconnected. I bet they don’t come back after that. The mirror should reflect the whole person not like a chicken with their head cut off.”

My friends were horrified. Jerry had spent a week, after work each night measuring the wall and attaching the mirror tiles, way before laser tools could tell you where to place them. It was a huge job. He looked sick.

The consultant turned to the staircase that was located directly in front of the front door and went upstairs to Jerry’s home office and their bedroom. He said “The Ch’i, the Cosmic Breath of God flies straight up the stairs and does not slow down. There are no pictures on the blank wall at the top of the stairs to reflect it off of the glass and bounce it all around the room, like a mirror would. There is no connection here of people to place, no recognition of the family that lives here. If you want to entertain the Ch’i, have it linger to bless this space then you need to put up pictures of yourselves and your family.”

Wow, I thought, that was pretty direct. They looked like they were in shock. We went upstairs and into their bedroom. The bed was covered with a white comforter, with a grid design that was alternating with green and blue 3” wide stripes about 1’ apart across the white background. He began to explain that the blue was significant for Wisdom, Knowledge, and Spirituality. The green was symbolic for Family, Community, and Good Health.

He explained “I bet you both are very active in the community and family because of the big green lines here on the bed covering. I would also venture that you both have an interest in Wisdom, Knowledge, & Spirituality. The white brings Creativity and blessings for the children. The bad news is it is all divided by the lines. It is my feeling that you hardly have time for each other, that you are divided in your relationship.”

Well that was also pretty shocking for them. I thought, how rude this guy is.

Both of them work in community groups, charities, and things of that nature, but not together. Jerry is a private investigator and travels some and they do not get to be together every day.

Linda attends lots of spiritual and metaphysical groups and speakers visiting Dallas, even traveling alone to go to Houston, Ft. Worth, San Antonio, while Jerry is out of town.
Jerry’s interests are service organizations that raise money for disadvantaged, handicapped and doing good. Also separate from Linda.

I, myself was in total shock that this guy hit it in such an accurate description, although I still thought he was a bit rude.

Linda, Jerry, and I grew up learning to only “say something nice or do not say anything at all.” But I had to admit, simply by reading the outlay of the space, he had “hit it” with his deductions.

The consultant finished looking through the house, she wrote him a $1,000. check for his 75 minutes and left.

“Well,” she said, “Do you think you will like your new career doing Feng Shui consultations? All your design and art experience from the Stained Glass decade and your real estate career makes you perfect for Feng Shui.” Again, I was in shock.

Next time I was there they had placed studio portraits of the two of them on that stairway wall to “connect” them to their home. The mirrors came down and a decorative mirror was placed behind the chair at the end of the table, so no one’s head was “cut off” when they were dining with Linda and Jerry.

Next the comforter was replaced with a solid mauve, the color of the decade, also a tone of activating Love and Relationships. Not long after that Jerry began to invite Linda to travel with him on his investigations and they were sometimes doing “stakeouts” in his work and talking and sharing more than they had in years. He began to sometimes go to the seminars she attended when he was in town and not traveling. They got closer than they had ever been.

Wow! Did the Feng Shui consultation work? They would say so. Things only got better and he began to get more commercial work, “industrial espionage” he called it, when he was working investigating in his cases. His salary went up remarkably.
I have to tell you that I was inspired to investigate Feng Shui. I bought every book I could find, attended every lecture by every Feng Shui author that came through Dallas, traveled out of town to hear authors speak on their books about Feng Shui, and practiced on all of my family and friends that would let me.

There were so many types of Feng Shui it was very confusing what would work best. Through practice and experimenting on my loved ones, it became clear what worked and what did not. After a year I began to consult with people my family and friends had shared with about what good luck they were having after that crazy Feng Shui was done on their homes. Many told others that whether they understood it or not, it works.

Nancilee

In 2001 I had been using a book called Feng Shui: The Book of Cures that worked great to “Cure” issues that were not good in people’s homes, for a couple of years. One day I was curious who wrote this book and I turned the book over, read about Nancilee Wydra, the author and looked her up on the Internet. She was offering a Feng Shui certification class in a month at Hilton Head so I made a reservation for the 8 day class. Nancilee had a degree in decorating, and in psychology. She also had trouble finding the best Feng Shui and had created Pyramid Feng Shui, then the Pyramid Institute of America, and FSII, Feng Shui Institute International, to make it easier to understand for her clients.

Pyramid Feng Shui

I had a glorious 8 day adventure. There were 18 of us there and at the end of that time we were best friends, confidants’, and Certified Professional Pyramid Feng Shui consultants. It was amazing. The last day she had arranged for us to Feng Shui two separate couples that she had met at the book store where she was autographing and selling her books the day before we arrived. We went to both houses and made notes and wrote our final “test” paper on the Consultations of both of these different perspectives of Feng Shui. Our success in writing up the finished consultation sheets with all the wisdom we had learned in our 8 days was what qualified us for the certification.

It had to be written answering all the Feng Shui questions she purposed over all aspects of both consultations separately. It was the format for our future written Consultation sheets we brought back to our clients so they would have basically a bound manual of all the pages, covering each room of their space. They would be able from that professionally constructed report, complete with pictures we took of their space, to create the changes necessary to “balance the energy” in their home or business.

I loved Pyramid Feng Shui. It simplified the best combinations of all the confusing books I owned, plus Nancilee’s vast knowledge of design and psychology, creating consultations that had a basis in scientific and psychological thought. Wow. Exactly up my alley. I love psychological, analytical analysis. It was the only type of books I preferred to read all of my adult life. It was fun to me.

Power Feng Shui

I followed Nancilee to Vero Beach, Florida, Columbus, Ohio, Sarasota, Florida, and monthly teleseminar conference calls. She wrote 9 books. When she wrote a children’s book called Feng Shui for Children’s Spaces she went back to college for a semester to study the psychological mind of children before she began. That is my kind of thinker. She is cutting edge. Exactly what I wanted for my career in Feng Shui. She made it crystal clear what would work. She changed my life and my career in those 8 days.

I came back to Dallas and began immediately to create Power Feng Shui, a combination of what I had learned in those 8 days, and the ancient techniques, principles and disciplines I had found worked for those I had “road tested” with my first year of Feng Shui, when I gave it away to all my friends and family that would allow me to do it in their homes.

Most importantly, I added something I rarely found in any school of Feng Shui. Spirituality! Oh, many books included a mention of placing a Buddha in the environment, usually in the immediate left hand corner of the layout where the Wisdom, Knowledge and Spirituality blessings are located. At least one Buddha is felt necessary to thank the Deity and show respect, that blesses the Chinese Culture that founded Feng Shui 6,000 years ago. It is thought if he is respected with a statue or icon then he will bless the home that honors him.

In my work to balance the energies in client’s homes often they would only agree to a small Buddha as a token of good fortune as they were not Buddhist and felt that it was not in alignment with their own belief system. Protestant Christians and Jewish families have their own Holy Icons that represent their personal faith and wanted to use those for their homes. Both of these faiths wanted to know “Where do I hang the Angels? What about our candles? What about the Holy Scriptures? Where are we going to put those for the best energy to bless us?”

All of these were great questions. I myself had a huge collection of Angels people had given to me over the years and I always placed them in that Wisdom, Knowledge & Spirituality left hand near corner on the Entry wall. I also placed them in my own home’s Sacred Space in every other area of the Bagua, the Power Feng Shui Key, to insure that God’s own Angels would be invited to be a part of my life, and my family’s lives in all rooms of my home. To me this meant that if I placed them throughout the home, God would know I wanted Him to send them with His messages for my life and my family’s lives.

When I met Nancilee at our first class together she had asked each of us why are we are taking her class. What did we want to achieve? My answer was that I wanted to combine Spirituality with all the aspects of Feng Shui to lift up God in people’s homes, along with creating a harmonic balance of the energies I told her that I did Spiritual Counseling with clients and when I began my study of Feng Shui clients began to ask “Where do the Angels go? What about the Holy books and the candles?”

I went on to tell her that since the Ch’i is the Cosmic Breath of God, the Life Force of our Universe, that I thought adding Holy Spirit Ch’i would be a natural progression of what I desired to create in people’s homes that wanted to represent God, Jesus, YWAH Jehovah Creator God, and Angels and other Holy Icons.

She laughed and said, “You know I am a New Jersey born Russian Jew? It sounds like a great idea to me.”

Nancilee’s stamp of approval was all I needed to feel I was on the right path with my new direction for Power Feng Shui. That was in 2001 and I have been including Holy Spirit Ch’i since that time. It brings a completely separate set of energies to the Sacred Space of homes. Without the Cosmic Breath of God we would not exist. Why not honor that was my thought. It made perfect sense to me.

Now when clients ask “Where do I put the Angels?” I simply say “Everywhere!”

Every home and business has different needs, varied expectations and goals and needs custom Feng Shui to create the environment in which they can “prosper” as Nancilee taught me. I learn from every single client something new as a myriad of challenges exists in each home and I find I have to “custom create a solution” designed for their unique circumstances.

I always offer 3 months of phone calls to answer questions that may arise with each consultation and ask that people please update me with their Feng Shui victories and surprises. It is my experience to share with people that Feng Shui is like Christmas morning. You never know what you will get but you already know you will be thrilled and delighted that there was something special there waiting for you.

Applying “Cures” to challenging environments and unique opportunities to make things forever better, creating a Sacred Space of people’s homes makes them happy, brings them joy, peace, prosperity, abundance, and solutions they had not anticipated. It is also a joy to me. I love Feng Shui.

You will too. Enjoy my www.PowerFengShui.info and www.AlexShawPowerFengShui.com and change your life in seemingly simple, powerful, delightful, fun ways. Share Feng Shui with your children and your family. Use what you love and already have to highlight and uplift your Sacred Space or business and blast your Ch’i, the Cosmic Breath of God, all the way to Heaven. The Breath of God will blast you back in a positive way.
Something so simple as a Wall of Fame in your child’s room with pictures printed off your computer of their recent activities and fun ventures or trips will make them feel so special. Even scotch taping them to the wall and replacing them monthly will create fabulous interest in their desire to do things that will be placed on that wall. The ones you take down can go in a notebook, placed in clear plastic sheets so they will survive being looked at continuously as that kiddo looks over their achievements again and again to see how important they are in their own life. What a glorious way to motivate them.

When you hang their pictures, be sure to lift them up above adult eyelevel to begin placement, to lift the “Ch’i” to its highest level. As they walk by their own personal Wall of Fame they will feel their importance and value to this family, and uplift their self esteem. What a great dual purpose for them, and for you as well. Building self respect never hurt a thing either.

Change your life and your loved ones as well with Power Feng Shui. I promise it will be fun. Fun and Feng Shui. What could be better. Play with your Feng Shui. You will be so glad u did.
